Lyme Disease An Increasing Concern

Lyme disease is becoming an increasing concern for many Americans. In the strict definition of the disease, it is a condition that is transmitted by a deer tick. The tick acts as a vector that transmits a spiral shaped bacterium from a deer to a human after attaching. The bacterium then creates a bulls-eye rash, which is generally a round, raised rash, about a couple inches or so in diameter at the location of the tick bite.
